This course is designed to help older adults and their families understand senior housing and care options before a crisis occurs. The course explores what can go wrong when no plan is in place and offers clear guidance and tools to support proactive, informed decisions.

Understand the full range of senior housing and care environments.
Recognize the risks of not planning ahead (e.g., hospital discharges, evictions, adult protection involvement).
Identify what Medicare and Medicaid cover — and what they don’t.
Navigate common barriers like waitlists, discharges, and cost.
Equip participants with tools to begin planning immediately.
