MIND Diet Meal Planning

  • Normandale Hylands United Methodist Church 9920 Normandale Boulevard Bloomington, MN (map)

Class summary

Krista Maddock, RN will introduce participants to the MIND Diet, one of the most researched eating patterns shown to support brain and cardiovascular health. This session breaks down what the MIND Diet is, why it works, and how it differs from trendy or restrictive diets.

Krista will focus on real food, realistic choices, and how small, consistent changes can lower inflammation, support blood flow to the brain, and reduce the risk of cognitive decline. The goal is not perfection, but clarity and confidence about how to eat in a way that supports long-term health. This is practical education for anyone who wants to protect their brain while also caring for their heart.

In this session, we will cover:

  • The MIND Diet Essentials: Simple ways to adopt this heart-and-brain-healthy approach.

  • Live Demonstration: How to easily “dose” your food for optimal nutrient density.

  • Eating Together: Exploring the proven brain benefits of communal dining and social connection.
