Aging in Minnesota: What's Changing, What's at Risk, and What's Ahead

  • Normandale Hylands United Methodist Church 9920 Normandale Boulevard Bloomington, Minnesota, 55437 United States (map)

Class Summary:

Many people assume that memory loss, slower thinking, and difficulty concentrating are simplypart of growing older. The good news? Research continues to show that our brains are capable of learning, adapting, and growing throughout life.

Join us for an engaging and interactive session focused on maintaining and strengthening the cognitive skills that support independence, confidence, and quality of life. We will explore how memory, attention, processing speed, and problem-solving abilities affect our daily lives—and what we can do to keep them strong.

Whether you occasionally forget a name, misplace your keys, or simply want to stay mentally sharp for years to come, this class will provide practical, evidence-informed strategies you can begin using right away.

During this session, we will:

  • Understand the federal and state decisions reshaping aging in Minnesota—and what remains uncertain

  • Learn what these developments could mean for care, costs, services, providers, and family caregivers

  • Discover how START is turning frontline experience into practical solutions, stronger advocacy, and national impact

A stronger brain isn’t just about memory—it supports confidence, independence, decision-making, and staying connected to the people and activities you love.
